Who is the weekend for?

Designed for all ages and life stages, our annual Church Weekend is a brilliant way to get to know others better and enjoy some Bible teaching alongside. There's plenty of free time and a broad range of activities on offer.
As well as investing in quality time with others in the church family, please do invite friends, family, neighbours and colleagues to meet Binscombe Church – they will be very welcome!
To keep this open to as many as possible, we stay local, meet daytime only and just ask for just a donation towards costs. But we would hate for finances to be a barrier to you coming – even if you can't contribute this time, do come along anyway.

Bringing any little ones or young people with you?

  • A creche for 0-3 year olds runs during each of the four main sessions
  • Children 4-11 will have their own special programme for Secret Agents "Mission: Made Possible" running alongside, led by Jon Poole (from Cranleigh Baptist) & team. Expect great bits from the Bible, songs, silly games & crafty creations.
  • Discovery (age 11-14) will have some sessions together as a group and will stay with the adults for the remainder.
  • All children's groups will be run by DBS-checked, trained leaders
  • There will be plenty of space to leap about or to sit quietly and activities to suit all different ages available

This year's speakers

Stephen Boon serves both as Associate Vicar at St John's Tunbridge Wells, and as a lecturer on the Cornhill Training Course, training people from all walks of life in Christian ministry; He's married to Kirkley, and they have a seven-year-old daughter called Eliza. In addition to Jesus and his family, Stephen loves American football (Go Ravens!) and baseball (Go Orioles!) He will be speaking on the theme of guidance.

Jon Poole is the Youth and Children's Leader at Cranleigh Baptist Church, having been a teacher for 20 years. He is married to Pippa and have 2 lovely daughters, 16 and 13, and a border collie called Nell. They love walking in the
Surrey Hills and holidaying in their caravan. He enjoys all sports, including football (he is a long-suffering Everton fan!). Jon will be leading the children's programme with a secret agent theme, "Mission: Made Possible".

Activities on offer

On Saturday afternoon at Longacre, there will be time to enjoy the beautiful grounds and a chance to relax together with a variety of different activities including a scavenger hunt, woodland table tennis, team sports and a range of table games.

On Sunday afternoon at Broadwater after the BBQ lunch, there will be a range of quiet and louder games on the field, and a chance to simply unwind.
